10.8.1 to 10.9 Notifications macro doesn't work

I doubt it was deleted, if it was you would get a link to restore it when you go to the page.

Looks more like something prevent this page from being saved in your setup (as suggested by the failing restore), did you look at the application server log for more details ?

unfortunately, I don’t save logs (i don’t mount a docker volume to save them)

I have just a few logs --> A recurrent warning about encoding on some pages, it should prevent the macro page installation?

org.apache.catalina.connector.Response.setCharacterEncoding The encoding [] is not recognised by the JRE

@gdelhumeau suggest me to download and to import xwiki-platform-notifications-macro-ui-10.9.xar, before delete his post.

Could it fix my problem?

I don’t know what can i explore.

Yes, we didn’t want you to do this because we knew it would fix the problem but it doesn’t help understanding why you got in this situation in the first place which means it may happen for other users too (unless you did something bad on your side, like delete the page yourself, etc).

So I guess we’ll see with the next user having the problem now!

I understand.

Below, I resume what I have done

Run container MySql
Run container xWiki 10.8.1, i added some extensions like Ldap authenticator.
I imported some of pagse from a few xar files.
At this point, notifications worked well
Stop container 10.8.1, Run a new one 10.9 (use same configuration files, volume was mounted)
When I opened xwiki, it suggested to me to install the 10.9 flavor extension. I did it… I think i was logged as a user (not admin) from LDAP with admin rights (user inside XWikiAdminGroup). Dashboard application disapear from my applications list.
Connected as admin, I could upgrade flavor extension to 10.9 from extension menu. I did it. Dashbord application reappear, but macro doesn’t work, After that, I have wrote this topic.

Thanks for giving the detailed steps you did. That will help. When/if I get some time, I’ll try to do that, skipping the LDAP part and the part about importing XAR files.

I am having a similar problem. I have Standard Wiki Flavor installed (and am running v10.10 of XWiki). When I go to the Notification Macro page ( i.e. http:///bin/view/XWiki/Notifications/Code/Macro/NotificationsMacro), I get the message:

“…The requested page could not be found…”

If I compute the differences for the Standard Flavor install, I did find the following messages related to Notification, i.e. seems like NotificationMacro was deleted:
