[solved] Section Editing in the Visual Editor - can we set it to display for lower header levels?

First, some quick feedback: Regarding the new in place editing - it’s very nice and seems to be working well. It “feels” faster to me.

Now for the question: The page has little pencil icon shortcuts for quick editing just that section only at the H1 and H2 levels. Is it possible to configure xwiki to allow us to have that shortcut appear at H3 or later levels?

For some reason, I thought I had come across this option before, but I cannot find it now. Either I’m going mad, or it was never there.

Any feedback appreciated.

It seems this configuration option was documented only in the release notes so I added some documentation to page editing. The short answer is: xwiki.section.depth .

And it’s nice to hear that!

@mflorea All config options are documented in the Admin Guide under the Configuration page, see https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/AdminGuide/Configuration/#HSectionEditing

I’ve updated https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Documentation/UserGuide/Features/PageEditing to link to it.

Thanks, I should have searched for "xwiki.section.depth" (quotes included). Now I see the page in the results.

Thank you Gentlemen.

I *knew* I saw that option somewhere, but for the life of me I couldn’t remember where.

Update:

Browsers can aggressively cache content from the wiki. I had to open a private browsing window, and relogin to see change.

It’s all good.
