[MyXWiki.org] Unable to delete several revisions

Hi,

I’m trying to delete several revisions of the following page: http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Accueil/XubuntuActiverOSD?viewer=history , but deleting the selected versions (through the dedicated button) doesn’t delele pages (or ask deletion confirmation) but instead displays the “compare view”.

You could play with this page for debug and only keep the last version of the page.

Note: this page has been created by “copy”, that’s the reason why I wanted to remove old history (it could be a “copy option” … I may open a new Jira improvement request to promote this idea :innocent:).

To answer my “note” above: there is already an existing Jira improvement created in 2012, see “Page copy: add an option to prevent copying source page history” https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-10126

By the way can someone can try to find out why I can not delete several revisions in page history? For instance you could play with http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiComments#History (ask me the rights if needed). The problem: deleting several versions displays the “compare view” instead :imp:.

I did that and was able to delete 2 revisions (the oldest ones). Works for me.

What should I do to get the error?

No error raised.

Context:
Go in page history, select 2 items.

Expected behaviour:
Prompt for deletion confirmation.

What occurs:
Comparison view displayed.

I can add a video if needed …

Attached a video performed on myxwiki.org on comment class page.

  • download and remove “*.txt” suffix
  • open file with a browser supporting Flash ;-(.

EDIT1: please play with http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiComments#History page (it has a huge history caused by a bug which should be fixed in next Xwiki release - according to Jira).

EDIT2: hope it’s not a pb of PR rights (again).

As I said I tried this on the page you gave at http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Accueil/XubuntuActiverOSD?viewer=history and I did what you mentioned and it worked fine…

You said it also happens with http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Accueil/XubuntuActiverOSD?viewer=history right?

Just deleted rev 1636.1 on http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiComments#History and it worked fine. Could be a problem with rights indeed.

Can someone have a deeper look to this issue?

I confirm that with my user, the selection of 2 versions in the page history and hitting “Delete all selected versions” button redirects me to the compare view (ie http://tutos.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/?viewer=changes) instead of asking page deletion confirmation :disappointed_relieved:!

I’m ready to give my user / password to any xwiki admin if it can help to troubleshoot.

See https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-15883 . We’re releasing 10.10 these days and then we’ll upgrade myxwiki.org . Sorry for the inconvenience.

Confirmed: bulk delete in page history is working again in Xwiki 10.10.
