[myxwiki.org] - "Topic tag" to identify forum threads linked to this community platform

Hi,

I’m using a community wiki at myxwiki.org. I have decided to report bugs or at least strange behaviors I’m faced to, here in this forum. I will add the tag “[myxwiki.org]” at the beginning of the topic’s subject to clearly identify them when they are linked to myxwiki.org.

I think other myxwiki.org users can do the same.

Using this platform has its own pros and cons but I personally think that it’s interesting for xwiki developers to assist myxwiki.org’s users (they already do!) because this platform can be viewed has a “big test platform” to improve Xwiki => it’s always in a recent Xwiki version, it’s easily available for debug (hosted + shared users directory) and at last but not least it has existing content.

What do you think about this initiative?

This is a good idea! I suggest you use a “myxwikiorg” tag instead though. That allows better categorization that some text. I’ve tagged one issue to show how it in action: https://forum.xwiki.org/t/myxwiki-org-no-macro-at-all/3839

Very good! And yes it’s very nice that you started different topics on problems you discovered.

I think the biggest one which has various consequences are the Programming permissions. This causes problems during upgrades and more (pages which have PR loose PR during upgrade if they’ve been changed in the xwiki distribution for example).

@vmassol thanks for your feedback. I will try to respect this new forum rule :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

I agree that Programming Rights are causing a lot of issues especialy in the context of myxwki.org.

For instance it prevents me to install basic extensions like Heading numbering (you made) which I have tried to use today.

@tmortagne , I’ve just discovered that there is already a “myxwiki” discussion tag you were using for myxwiki upgrade announcements in “Events” subforum.

Could you please merge these 2 tags (or explain me or to perform the merge or give me the required forum permissions)?

No idea how to merges tags, I just modified the tag in the topics you created.

@tmortagne thanks. Now that there is no more topic with the old tag “myxwikiorg”, it has been automatically removed from the tags list when posting a new topic :stuck_out_tongue:.

The only “official” tag in the forum is now myxwiki.
